The hospitality of our Locanda takes shape in a wonderful building erected during the 18^th century, called Tommaseo. On the floors above the historical, same-named coffee-house our guests can experience the atmosphere of the former Trieste.

The most refined rooms look onto Piazza del Teatro Verdi, with a perspective on Piazza Unità d'Italia, just some steps distant from the seafront and from the most interesting places of the city: the Greek-Orthodox church of St. Nicholas, the Serb-Orthodox church of St. Spyridon and Canal Ponte Rosso, core of the Austrian district wished by Maria Theresia.

Our furnishing evokes, in a modern way, precisely this multiethnicity, referrring both to the neoclassical Austro-Hungarian Trieste and to the Middle-Eastern one. The walls and the bed frames, displaying colors such as chocolate brown, coffee brown and golden, next to the damask-like textures of the toilets, let our guests sense the atmosphere of the epoch.

Our furniture combines the old bedside tables and the 19^th century writing desks with highly innovative wardrobes.

Each detail is associated with the Greek and the Jew cultures which have made Trieste a central European city.

Locanda Tommaseo offers two kinds of accommodation: double rooms and apartments. The latter can host up to 4 people and are equipped with kitchen and living room. Both are equipped with private bathrooms.
